The street is filled with more than 100 stalls selling a wide range of food and drink and food-related items. You will find everything from olives to oils and asparagus to anchovies.
Many stalls in the market give you the opportunity to taste their wares before buying. There are also a number of food outlets where you can get snacks or meals to eat on the go or sit at a table in the (hopefully!) sunshine and enjoy at your leisure.
Children are well catered-for during the market as there is a Kid’s Kitchen on both days with sessions for kids aged 7 to 10 who can have a hands-on cookery workshop with Ester Davis, food writer and nutritionalist, while kids aged 11 to 14 can take part in a pasta workshop run by Liz Farrow, a renowned chef/lecturer from Bournemouth & Poole College. All sessions cost £3 per child and can be booked through Christchurch Information Centre on 01202 471780.
And don’t forget the free cookery demonstrations in the marquee in Saxon Square with celebrity chefs along with chefs from local restaurants.
